Passenger services have restarted at Scotland's primary international airport after a substantial air traffic control outage halted all operations.

All aircraft movements were halted after an technical fault that occurred at about 08:30.

Several flyers found themselves stranded in aircraft on the tarmac during the disruption.

Services Recommence with Continued Disruption

The airport confirmed at 10:40 that flights had resumed, and thanked passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".

That said, considerable delays are anticipated to persist for some time. Flights to key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been axed, with many others facing hold-ups.

Officials had previously estimated that dozens of flights could be affected.
